Big Bang (G-Dragon, TOP, Seungri, Taeyang, Daesung) is certainly a rival to TVXQ/ DBSK. Looking at TVXQ who is still relying on their pretty faces and old-fashioned ballads, they are probably been labeled as "dead" or we call it a stationery phase of their career.
Big Bang I used to called them the most Grotesque band ever in Korean pop history. And now that TVXQ is basically dead they are surfacing, having a major breakthrough success in Japan. They are now moving their career towards Japan market who mimics their senior Se7en, also from JG Entertainment. However, I didn't mean that they are not popular when TVXQ is at their peak. Back in 2007 Big Bang defeated TVXQ for Best Male Group in M.NET/KM Music Festival!
Now that Big Bang is releasing their latest Japanese single
ガラガラ Go!!
which create a Big Bang phenomena in Japan. As usual, Big Bang is never run out of idea, their dance is free, the song is fun, very unique and just Bang!
Another worth mentioning thing is that G-dragon has released his very own solo album Heartbreaker. Believe it or not he is one Most Influential Artist in the entire Korea nowadays!
Damn G-Dragon he just make Visual Hip Hop rocks!Heartbreaker is just awesome though in the opening it does sounds like Flo Rida Right Round.
