Mathematics in Wonderland just does not add up!

Mathematics in Wonderland just does not add up!

"Charles Dodgson was a mathematics tutor at the University of Oxford, and his love for math can most surely be seen in his book: Alice in the Wonderland.

Love the book and this time Tim's film, I admire him as an artist/ movie maker.

  2. hi nn thanks for dropping by,

in Wonderland tea party is all madness but it shows how the writer of the book also a traditional english mathematician hates the Quaternion system, system that has to do with complex number! Hamilton the one who came out with the complex number system, an irish, said if we take out the parameter "time", everything is rotating and won't go "anywhere",

therefor the tea party scene, the mouse the mad hatter and the har are present , and NO "time" there, so they were rotating round and never stop, till Alice came in..Alice as the "time"...

TO sum up, the writer of alice in wonderland, lewis carrol wants to say: screw the modern maths! "get rid of all of this complexity in the first place, and let's just go back to the familiar old geometry that we've had since Euclid for 2,000 years"...

    hee hee
